Changing the Status Quo of Anesthesia

Since 2003, we've challenged anesthesia staffing models to build something more collaborative, more flexible, and ultimately better for patients, providers, and facilities.

Our beginnings

LifeLinc began in 2003 with a simple but ambitious idea: anesthesia care could be done better. Founded by Eric Callan, CRNA the company was built on a willingness to challenge long-standing assumptions in anesthesia staffing and delivery. When Greg Thompson, MD came aboard in 2015, the vision expanded, not just to grow a company, but to reshape how anesthesia teams worked together. At the time, the anesthesia landscape was largely divided into rigid models. Rural hospitals often relied solely on CRNAs, while many other facilities were staffed entirely by anesthesia care teams under strict medical-direction structures. The system functioned, but it left little room for flexibility, innovation, or financial sustainability. As labor shortages began to affect both CRNAs and MDs, it became clear that a new approach was needed, one that honored training, respected licensure, and empowered providers to practice at the top of their capabilities.

Building for the future

For LifeLinc, changing the status quo has never meant rejecting the past, it means building upon it with creativity and purpose. The company was born from entrepreneurial risk and sustained by a belief that healthcare systems should evolve alongside the people they serve. The ongoing investment has always been in people, partnerships, and progress. Looking forward, the mission remains focused on stability, growth, and innovation. Expansion is not simply about scale; it is about strengthening leadership, and improving the systems that support providers and facilities alike. LifeLinc’s hope for the future is a solvent, resilient organization that continues to introduce forward-thinking programs, nurture collaboration, and deliver anesthesia services that are both dependable and transformative. In every chapter of LifeLinc’s story, the goal is the same: change the status quo of healthcare.
