Complete Perioperative Support
As part of LifeLinc's anesthesia management service, we offer our clients a variety of value added services that enhance the perioperative process by eliminating unnecessary testing, shortening length of stay, and improving outcomes.
Pre-Anesthetic Evaluation (PAE)
THE PROBLEM
Many anesthesia providers rely on outdated patient evaluation methods prior to anesthesia and surgery. Increased expenses of laboratory testing and persistent day of surgery cancellations are a result. “Medical clearance” letters are often utilized while Pre-Anesthetic Testing clinics excessively order screening laboratory tests.
THE SOLUTION
A pre-anesthetic evaluation process that focuses on the patient’s medical history and current functional status rather than screening lab tests. Utilizing the most current guidelines, the need for unnecessary testing and “medical clearance” letters is eliminated.
THE BENEFITS
- A simplified process for surgeons to schedule surgical cases
- More accurate patient assessment for anesthesia
- Elimination of age-based laboratory studies, EKG, and CXR
- Increased savings from decreased lab ordering
- Not all patients have to physically appear for a Pre-Anesthesia appointment leading to higher patient satisfaction.
Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS)
THE PROBLEM
Perioperative pain management presents several challenges. While opioids provide a viable option in perioperative analgesia, the accompanying dangers must be considered. Prescription opioid misuse (diversion, abuse, addiction and overdose) has reached epidemic levels.
THE SOLUTION
Perioperative pain management that focuses on multi-modal pain management strategies including regional anesthesia, peripheral nerve blocks and other non-pharmacologic treatments.
THE BENEFITS
- Contributes to improved patient outcomes
- Reduces postoperative complications
- Accelerates recovery and supports early discharge
- Generates savings from decreased length of stay, complications and readmissions
- Limits surgeon post-op calls
Quality Reporting
Clinical Metrics
LifeLinc understands the importance of enhancing your patients’ care and safety. By utilizing a variety of different satisfaction surveys, we will provide you access to real-time data and alerts to address areas of concern, minimize risk and improve the patient experience. Our in-house assessments include patient satisfaction, surgeon satisfaction and post-operative pain scores.
